Motivation & Inspiration
If we go to an awesome lecture or listen to a great speaker that seems to hit all the "key" phrases; talks as if he's speaking right to us out of hundreds of people or "just knows" what it takes to pick himself up & keep going -so he get's you motivated too...
Yes, we have all been there; been excited and ready to go! Then, we got in our cars, go out for dinner & have a great conversation over this amazing way of thinking, speaking & way that we should all start talking internally and to each other. Then, we go home and get back into our same old routine. Sound familiar?
I can hear you nodding & thinking, "yes, and I don't want to do that -so what do I do?"
First, you decide. Decide that you really do want to change -then you will. Recognize that the true motivation comes from within. The start is the desire to make change & then the drive to do it. Your steps in doing so, being honest with yourself, defines the commitment that puts the "period & -ed" after motivated. (If you say or think it will be too difficult -it will be because you make it that way. That is when you don't really want to do something, but attempt out of some form of obligation or to look like your doing the right thing.)
Second, take one step at a time. One day at a time. You have probably learned some valuable information that you've written down or tape recorded. So review it -over & over. Commit it to memory & apply it to your way of living, your way of thinking (or changing the way you think) & to your lifestyle -each day.
Third, don't beat yourself up. That is self-defeating & takes away all that you are working at to accomplish. Every step you take, express joy and gratitude (then you will continue to improve). When ever you don't get it quite right, tell yourself it is okay & that the reward is recognizing it & you will get it next time (then you will continue to improve).
Forth, continue to apply what you have learned & continue to learn all what you are applying. It is all about the journey -not just the end result (this is called living life); so enjoy it (the whole process of life -laugh a lot!). Be grateful for each moment, every experience (good, bad & indifferent -at least your alive to feel it) and for all who have been there to either go through it with you or put you through it to get a clue what you like & what you hate! WOW! Life teachers come in all forms -aren't they great?! (I agree, we are glad some don't stay long! ha ha)
Fifth, take a break. Just breath. Drink water. Take in the world; nature around you. See the beauty everywhere; in others; even in you. Creation; the power of Intention; the "spark of life"; energy; etc. that which makes everything go; moves; keeps life going -is abundant, non-stopping, ever-flowing. You have a divine connection to all of this. It's peaceful. It's beautiful. It's calm. It's infinite. It is reassuring. So, you too, can find a "connection" an inner drive that is ever-flowing, though peaceful and calm -that will motivate you and inspire you to be all that you are meant to be! Be true to yourself!
You have a divine purpose in this world -to be exactly who you were made to be... YOU!
Know that the more you learn about yourself, the stronger you become in being self motivated. The more self motivated you are -the more receptive you become to the encouragement, support & added motivation that others offer you! Much luck & many Blessings to you on your life journey!
